'8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter'

Since her first film role at 8, opposite Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe in “Virtuosity,” Kaley Cuoco has been going somewhere. Never a matter of drive or ability for the 17-year-old, just choices.

“It’s kind of like I’m emancipated,” she says, after testing her way out of high school last year, “but don’t get me wrong, I’m still schooling. It’s a great thing to have in your back pocket.”

A serious tennis player, Cuoco, who appears as the boy-crazy teen on ABC’s “8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter,” knows all about competition.

At a recent tournament, her opponent seemed more interested in the goings-on in Hollywood than at Wimbledon. “The last time I went to a tournament, the whole match the girl was asking me about the show,” Cuoco recalls.

“I don’t know if this is my last show or if it will take me to feature film, but this is definitely what I want to do,” says the actress always on the go.
