“Manifesting is co-creating because it’s a collaboration between you and the universe. Which is exactly why knowing what you want is only half the battle—you will not see any results without action. You have to build them into your daily routine. Be 100% committed,” says manifestation expert and founder of wellness space Grey Wolfe, Sarah Jones St John. "Manifesting is making everything you want to feel and experience a reality via your thoughts, actions, beliefs, and emotions. The energy we put out in the world is the energy we get back, which means if you are continually sending out negative energy through either your thoughts or feelings you will attract that same energy back to you. "It's easy to think of manifestation as an instant gratification kind of thing. But looking for immediate results from a manifestation practice is kind of like planting a tree and expecting it to grow big and tall overnight.
"I don't think manifestation is a 'think it and it will come'; it requires commitment and a de-programming of sorts. It works best for someone who is willing to pull up the uncomfortable stuff with themselves to move to a space of healing and trust. I also recommend looking for outside help, perhaps from a therapist, as things that might come up that are difficult to face. For instance, you might revisit past traumas you've worked hard to push down — your parents' divorce, being bullied as a child, or a bad breakup.
“Concentrate on how you want to feel. If you want more love in your life, set your intention to be more loving. If you seek kindness, focus your energy on empathy and compassion. It all starts with you. Not the ‘thing’,” she adds.

According to Sarah, manifesting done correctly is when you use your procedural memory as a tool to train your brain, your nervous system and your spirit to help you feel motivated and to help you do the work that actually changes your life. "Manifesting is not just thinking about something that you want and suddenly it'll magically appear, manifesting is when you use your procedural memory, and you visualise the step-by-step actions that you need to take in order to make your big goal to become a reality.
"We are always manifesting, every single day, often without being conscious of it. Because we can tend to see things more negatively, what we end up manifesting tends to be the opposite of what we actually want for ourselves. We create more problems for ourselves, more issues to resolve, more pain to have to heal from.
“Many people think of manifesting as something they do only while in their ‘Zen Den’, on their meditation pillow, with every crystal lined up and candle lit. They spend time in that space meditating, journaling, and doing whatever else helps them get aligned, feel good and connect to spirit. and then they get up, go about their day and leave their spiritual practices behind. When you compartmentalise your spiritual practices like this, you’re cutting off the flow of inspiration. Inspiration isn’t something we can feel only on a retreat or in a yoga class, we do ourselves a great disservice when we put it in a box and keep it separate from the rest of our life.”
