Shailene Woodley Goes Barefoot for Spectacular Now Screening
Co-star Miles Teller reveals that Woodley's breath 'smells like crap'
Sundance standout “The Spectacular Now” brought the present moment to Los Angeles July 30, when the cast and crew saddled up to the one-screen Vista Theater in Los Feliz for an intimate screening A24’s coming-of-age film.
On the cramped red carpet Shailene Woodley almost immediately snapped one of her four-inch heels while talking to reporters. After the initial shock and some readjusting, she unburdened her feet.
“Am I the first person to ever do that? Does that mean I get to be barefoot for the rest of the night? This is such good news.”
The star has lately become known for her somewhat granola lifestyle, which co-star Miles Teller reports, couldn’t be avoided on set because of the many kissing scenes.
“Before our first kissing scene, Shailene took these Chinese dirt supplements and shoved them in her mouth,” Teller said. “It’s like a dirt pouch, and it smells like crap.”
“She always has a mason jar and 100% of the time it smells like crap.”

Woodley, however, had a bone to pick with her co-star, as Teller interrupted reporters to take a call from “Fruitvale Station’s” Michael B. Jordan who could’t find parking.
“You’re being so rude right now, Miles,” Woodley yelled into the cell phone as Teller tried to keep his cool and continue his convo. Teller was unfazed and explained that “the moment Michael B. Jordan became my friend in LA I became infinitely cooler.”
Co-star Brie Larson and guests Liam James (who stars with Woodley in Lionsgate’s upcoming “Divergent”), Jenna Fischer, and couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco hoofed it to the Rockwell Patio for the after party.
“The Spectacular Now” opens August 2.
